A werewolf and a goblin invite friends over for a bit of light entertainment. By invite they mean kidnap; by friends they mean random passers-by; and by light entertainment they mean forcing you to perform like a monkey* for their satisfaction. What could possibly go wrong?
*Monkeys are not invited.
You must complete an agility course at least once.
In order to start this distraction you will need to have gotten a lap bonus at one of the many agility courses scattered through RuneScape. The agility courses are:
Your lap bonus earns you a chance that a talent scout will beckon you over at the end of the course. He will offer you the chance to take part in an event, giving you a vague notion of what it is that you will be doing before you accept. If you are wearing an Agility skillcape, you will be able to play whenever you want, but the XP rewards may be smaller than if you had entered The Pit through successful laps.
You will have to dismiss any followers, your hands must be empty (as some heavy lifting may be required) and you cannot be poisoned or diseased in order to take part. It is worth mentioning that the talent scout is looking for human recruits.
Note that once you have taken part in an event, even if you left it early, you will not get another chance to be picked for an event until 1 hour has passed (those who have entered The Pit by using their Agility skillcape may play without any time limits). Don’t worry if you haven’t had a chance for a while, keep running laps and eventually the talent scout will take notice!
| Scrambles | Snotgut |
|---|---|
| Scrambles is the more aggressive of the presenting duo. Having said that, he is slightly more sensible and level-headed than his madcap co-host, but that isn't saying much considering he kidnaps people and forces them to take part in wacky events for his own entertainment. | With his broken English and exaggerated reactions to things, Snotgut is the complete opposite to Scrambles. He will very rarely acknowledge you unless you are doing something wrong, too obsessed with his own life to pay attention to yours. Snotgut is also recovering from a crippling sheep addiction. As a sidenote, Snotgut really hates bad singing. |

| Talent scout | |
|
The very definition of 'thug', the scout does all the dirty work for the hosts including kidnap and throwing out the trash. The scout is hanging around the start of the agility courses mentioned above. Keep an eye out for him; he’ll try to get your attention if he thinks you’re doing well. |
There are several devious events to perform in, and you’ll need to be quick, as well as lucky, to win. The hosts select the event for you to play so be prepared for anything. The events are as follows:
| Floor is Lava! | High-low There! |
|---|---|
|
You are given a series of crates in the centre of the room, you must make your way from one side to the other via the crates. You can only move diagonally to the adjacent crates but choose wisely as some crates are unstable enough to cause you to nearly lose your balance, and some are not even safe to stand on. Should you fall off into the 'lava' you will fail the event. |
In this event you must guess whether the next number is higher or lower than the one before it before the times runs out. If you fail to choose in time, the hosts will pick for you. Press the pads on the floor to indicate your choice. You must guess correctly several times to win the event. If you choose incorrectly you will fail the event. |
| Karaoke! | Put the Thing in the Other Thing! |
|
It turns out that Snotgut doesn't really like karaoke. Because of this, instead of singing, you're actually going to have to avoid the falling objects from the cave-in caused by Snotgut's tantrum. Avoid the rocks falling from the ceiling. It’s best to run around the platform, and keep an eye out for the tell-tale shower of pebbles that come before a big rock fall. If you are hit by a rock you will fail the event. |
The aim of this event is to place the unique shaped objects into their matching holes. The shapes are heavy however, and you’ll need both hands free to lift them above your head. To complete the event you must fill all recesses before the time runs out. |
| Punch the Hungry Sheeps! | Crate Expectations! |
|
A herd of sheep has invaded the challenge cave and one has swallowed the key to the rewards room. Punch the sheep to death until you find the one who ate the key. You win the event by slaying the correct sheep before time runs out. You get 5 guesses. |
In this event you must search through crates to find the reward room key. Some crates have a chance to spawn a chicken which will try to block your path. You win the event by finding the key and opening the door to the reward room before the timer runs out. You get 5 guesses. |
At the end of each event you will be given a reward in Agility XP. This amount will be smaller if you fail the event, or if you have used your Agility skillcape to play.
If you win your event, Scrambles offers you the choice of gambling your XP. You can get it doubled, halved or unchanged. Just open the gambling crate to take the risk, otherwise exit the room. Players who entered using their skillcape do not get the chance to gamble.
You also receive a gorilla mask for completing your first event. The mask is untradeable and is given to you the next time you speak to the talent scout. You can return to the scout for a replacement at any time if you lose your current one.
