A Normal tree, (also known as just Tree or Regular Trees) is the most common and basic type of tree avalible on RuneScape, they are avalible on both free to play (f2p) and members worlds. Normal trees can come in different forms such as "Dead Trees", "Dying Trees", and "Evergreen Trees". These give the same amount of XP as normal trees, with some dead trees giving charcoal in place of logs.

Players can cut trees to obtain normal logs which can be used in multiple skills, these include:-

• Woodcutting XP
• Firemaking XP
• Fletching XP*
• Construction XP*

Examine

When you examine a normal tree you will see one of the following:-

1. One of the most common trees in RuneScape
2. A commonly found tree
3. A healthy young tree*

Money Making

Players can use normal trees for money making using a different number of methods.

Method 1

Cutting a normal tree a player will obtain normal logs which they can sell straight to the Grand Exchange

Method 2 (members)

Members can cut normal logs into unstrung bows, arrow shafts or cross stocks using the fletching skills and then selling them to the GE.

Method 3 (members)

Like all trees, cutting normal trees gives a chance of receiving a birds nest, when searching you have a chance to receive rings (45%), tree seeds (50%) or eggs (5%).

The type of seeds that you can get from a nest are (listed most common to least):-

• Acorn
• Willow
• Apple
• Banana
• Orange
• Curry
• Maple
• Yew
• Pineapple
• Papaya
• Magic
• Palm
• Calquat
• Spirit

NOTE with level 24 Hunter players can wear a strung rabbit foot which increase the chance of getting a birds nest

Not only will you get the item from the nest but if you use the nest on a pestle and mortar you will get a crushed nest which you can sell on the GE.

Woodcutting

Players can chop down trees at level 1 woodcutting using an hatchet, this gives a player a normal log and 25XP per cut. Players can only get one (1) log per a normal tree before it is cut down to a stump. If a player was to cut normal trees from 1-99 woodcutting they would need to cut 521,378.

Note: Trees built in a house may not be cut down.

Firemaking

At level 1 firemaking players can burn normal logs using a tinderbox, this will give a player 40xp per a log.

Fletching

Using logs players cut from normal trees they can train their fletching skill. With these logs they can make arrow shafts, short bow (u) and long bow (u) at levels one (1), five (5) and ten (10) respectively.
