The Worn Equipment interface is where you can review the armour and weapons that you have equipped. Your character has separate slots for each type of weapon or clothing. To view what you have equipped, click the helmet icon (
) to open the worn inventory menu.
Armour and weapons are an important aspect of the game. The weaponry you are wielding can often make the difference between winning and losing a battle. To wield a weapon, go to your inventory screen and click on the item that you wish to wield. If the item can be worn it will then move to your equipment screen.
Separate slots show what you are carrying on your person at any time. To remove an item, left click on it or right-click on the slot you wish to change and select 'Remove' from the list. Along the bottom of the worn inventory menu are the 'Equipment Stats' button, the 'Items Kept on Death' button, the 'Toolbelt' button and the 'Avatar Customisation' button.
Main article: Combat Stats
The 'Combat Stats' button at the bottom-left of this worn inventory menu will bring up a screen showing what you are wearing and all of the bonuses and modifiers to your combat statistics.
In particular, the interface shows the damage, accuracy, critical bonus, speed and weapon type of each of your weapon(s) and the cumulative rating of your equipped armour. You are also shown any life bonuses or prayer bonuses that your equipment offers.
If you do not have a weapon in your off hand (perhaps you are carrying a shield, or a wielding a two-handed weapon), then the off hand tabs will be greyed out.
You will find that different combinations of equipment will give you different bonuses up and down, dependent on that particular item's strengths or weaknesses.
This interface also allows you to see your offensive and defensive stats against a person or NPC of a particular combat level.
While this 'Combat Stats' screen is open, you are also able to hover over items on the interface to look at their 'Stats', or hover over items in your inventory to 'Compare' that item with the one your have equipped.
The 'Items Kept on Death' interface is accessed through the button second from the left at the bottom of the Worn equipment menu. It will bring up an interface showing how many items you will keep when you die under your current circumstances, as well as which ones will be protected.
This interface is split into two sections. On the left you will see how many items you keep when you die, as well as the reason why this is the case.
On the left side, you will see pictures of all of the items you are wearing, wielding or carrying in your inventory. Those listed above the line will be lost on death unless you select them as one of your three items kept on death (by default, the three kept items are bounded by an orange frame, and are the most valuable according to their Grand Exchange guide price). Listed below the line are the items kept automatically on death.
On the right side of the Items Kept on Death screen, you will also see some information explaining the value of all of the items you are carrying, the value you are 'risking', and the length of your gravestone duration, among other things.
Main article: Toolbelt
The toolbelt is a useful storage compartment in the game that allows you to keep a variety of tools in one place. This keeps your inventory free as well as making sure you never leave your POH without an important skilling tool.
The toolbelt only takes basic tools, so if you want to carry a more advanced version, you'll need to bring these in your inventory.
The tools held on the belt will not be lost should you die, and member only items are inaccessible and greyed out for free-to-play players.
If a tool requires a certain skill level to use, you will be able to add this tool to your belt, but you won't be able to use it until you reach the required level(s).
All tools contained on your belt act passively - you don't have to do anything to use them. If you want to see which tools you have on your belt however, you can access your toolbelt from the Worn Equipment menu.
To add an item from the list above to the toolbelt, right click the item in your inventory and choose "add to toolbelt".
Main article: Avatar Customisation
The Avatar Customisation interface allows you to select various aspects of your character such as outfits, titles and animations (available through the Solomon's General Store).
It is accessible through the Worn Equipment interface via a grey helm icon in the bottom right corner.
It consists of five tabs, a selection pane and a viewing pane where you can preview your changes.
The five tabs are "Outfits", "Titles", "Animations", "Avatar" and "Pets". Clicking on these will change what is shown in the selection pane.
The selection pane is different depending on which tab you select, but it will always give you the option to show items you own, or all items. You can do this by clicking one of the box icons in the bottom-left corner - the first box on the left shows all items and the box to its right will filter the items to only those that you own.
The selection pane is split into categories of items. All tabs have different categories but they all serve the same purpose in that they are there to help you find what you are looking for more easily.
